| Sumario: | In Nicaragua and Costa Rica, the right to a reproductive autonomy, which implies access to a free, voluntary and responsible motherhood, is being hindered by Christian  core  beliefs  changed  into  laws.  This  political  scenario,  in  which  Catholic  and  Evangelical  beliefs  prevail,  is  also  where  minority  groups  spring  up,  reclaiming  a  Christian discourse that entirely or partially protects all sexual and reproductive rights. These “religious dissidences” are a part of women’s everyday lives and have the potential to become political alliances for the feminist movement. |
